Contracts Advisor

Rotech Subsea is a global leader in subsea cable and pipeline burial, trenching and seabed excavation, delivering projects across offshore wind, oil & gas, interconnectors and telecommunications.

We’re looking for an experienced Contracts Advisor to support the Subsea Manager across contract review, negotiation and commercial administration.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review and markup client contracts, MSAs, frameworks, subcontracts and NDAs.
  • Identify commercial and contractual risks and support negotiations.
  • Maintain contract deviations, notices, variations, claims and key deadlines.
  • Manage insurance, bonds, guarantees and contractual security.
  • Support tenders, PQQs and supplier qualification processes.
  • Maintain accurate contract records and provide commercial reporting.
  • Work closely with senior management, project teams, finance and external counsel.

KEY SKILLS:

  • 3+ years’ experience in contracts, commercial or procurement, ideally within offshore energy, marine, oil & gas or offshore wind.
  • Strong understanding of liability, indemnity, LDs, insurance, variations, force majeure, suspension and termination.
  • Excellent Microsoft Word skills, particularly Track Changes and document comparison.
  • Highly organised, commercially aware and meticulous with detail.
  • Confident communicating with clients and senior stakeholders.
  • Eligible to work in the UK

Storesperson

We are seeking a hardworking and reliable Storeperson to join our busy team. This is a hands-on role that requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receive, inspect and verify incoming goods against delivery notes or purchase orders.
  • Organise and store items in designated locations.
  • Organise and store items in designated locations.
  • Maintain accurate records of stock movements using inventory management systems.
  • Prepare and pack goods for dispatch, ensuring proper labelling and documentation.
  • Conduct regular stock checks and assist with inventory audits.
  • Report stock shortages, damages or discrepancies to supervisor.
  • Ensure the store area is clean, organised and compliant with safety regulations.
  • Operate forklifts or other warehouse equipment (if certified) safely and effectively.
  • Assist other departments with material requisitions and deliveries as needed.
  • Carry out stock checks on workshop containers on arrival back from projects and restock.

Lead Engineer

Rotech is a fast growing engineering group based in Aberdeen, delivering cutting-edge subsea solutions to the offshore wind, subsea cables and oil & gas industries worldwide.

As our fleet of subsea excavation equipment grows globally, the need has arisen for an experienced Lead Engineer to maintain and grow this reputation, overseeing all engineering and maintenance activities.

This role provides technical leadership across projects, contributing to and ensuring the quality of new designs, and continuous improvement of maintenance strategies, all with a focus on safety and compliance with industry standards and best practice.

The Lead Engineer will work with the Director, Offshore Operations and Workshop staff and will manage the Design Engineers to drive excellence across the engineering function.

Responsibilities:

  • ENGINEERING LEADERSHIP
    • Provide technical leadership and guidance on hydraulic and mechanical system design, installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
    • Create, review and approve engineering drawings, hydraulic schematics, and technical documentation.
    • Support project teams with technical expertise during design, build, testing, and commissioning phases.
    • Act as the main point of contact for technical engineering matters.
    • Work with external consultant and in house technicians to maintain and improve control systems
  • HYDRAULIC & MECHANICAL SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT
    • Oversee the design, maintenance, and performance of hydraulic systems (Hydraulic Power Units, subsea excavation equipment, cable-grab and cutting equipment, control systems).
    • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action processes for equipment failures.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and pressure testing requirements.
    • Continuous improvement of maintenance programs.
  • EQUIPMENT TRACKING & ASSET MANAGEMENT
    • Oversee company equipment tracking systems .
    • Ensure records of equipment location, certification status, maintenance history, and utilization are being kept accurately.
    • Ensure inspection, calibration, and certification schedules are adhered to.
    • Generate asset performance and utilization reports to support operational decision-making.
    • Improve traceability processes to minimize equipment downtime and loss.
  • PROJECT & OPERATIONAL SUPPORT
    • Collaborate with operations, procurement, and maintenance teams to ensure equipment availability.
    • Support budgeting and forecasting for equipment lifecycle and replacement planning.
    • Identify opportunities to optimize asset usage and reduce costs.
    • Oversee mobilization and demobilization of equipment for projects when required.
  • COMPLIANCE & SAFETY
    • Ensure all hydraulic systems and equipment comply with HSE regulations and company policies.
    • Maintain documentation in line with QA/QC standards.
    • Lead audits and support external inspections where required.

Requirements:

  • EDUCATION
    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline (preferred).
    • Relevant professional certifications or chartered status (advantageous).
  • EXPERIENCE
    • 7+ years of relevant engineering experience, with strong exposure to hydraulic systems.
    • Experience with ROVs or similar subsea equipment strongly advantageous.
    • Background in subsea, manufacturing, heavy engineering, or similar industries preferred.
    • Proven experience leading teams or supervising engineering personnel.
  • TECHNICAL SKILLS
    • Strong knowledge of hydraulic and mechanical systems and fault diagnosis.
    • Familiarity with ERP/CMMS systems and asset tracking software.

Backshift Supervisors

You will be responsible for the maintenance and operation of Rotech Subsea equipment whilst offshore. You will also be involved in completing equipment pass-off tests before the project commences. Other responsibilities will include ensuring project paperwork is completed in detail and signed off by clients and ensuring Rotech Subsea HSEQ guidelines and standards are adhered to.

Subsea Technicians

We are looking for enthusiastic, driven, individuals who are willing to learn and can work well both independently and within a team. The candidates should have a safety first attitude, a questioning mind and an ability to use initiative to meet and resolve challenges.

We are looking for candidates who can develop to become Backshift Supervisors and Team Leaders, so are looking for people with leadership qualities.

The following skills and experience will be helpful, but we are keen to have applications from anyone who is keen to operate mechanical equipment in an offshore environment and can demonstrate an ability to learn and succeed.

Key skills:

  • Be a good communicator, with good time management and organisational skills.
  • Have some experience in Hydraulic, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronic systems.
  • Be keen to learn about the company's range of equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performing maintenance and repair of equipment.
  • Whilst offshore, ensuring that the equipment is maintained and operated as per the Offshore Supervisor's instructions and company procedures.

Mechanical Fitter

Due to the continuing growth of our business, Rotech is seeking a Mechanical Fitter to join our technical team. You will be working both on new-builds and on the maintenance of our fleet of unique subsea excavation equipment based in our Aberdeen yard. Your work will be varied and will range from long lead-time assembly work to urgent quick-turnaround maintenance work.

All tools and equipment are provided. Occasional opportunities will arise for international travel and offshore project work, depending on skills and motivation.
