Sales Engineer

Seeking to build on successful and growing operations worldwide, Rotech Subsea Ltd is looking to recruit a sales engineer to add to our team.

We are industry experts in fluid dynamics and turbo-machinery with a particular focus on subsea tools. We are currently seeking to employ an experienced and ambitious sales engineer to support our business development team.

You will be part of a small team of business development professionals and project engineers. Experience in any of our market sectors would be advantageous, as would a knowledge of subsea trenching and excavation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the business development manager with client contacts and follow up.
  • Assist business development manager negotiate contract terms.
  • Establish and maintain good relationships with clients.
  • Produce quotations for clients.
  • Co-ordinate sales projects.
  • Attend trade shows.

Subsea Technicians

Key Responsibilities:

  • Involvement in the build of new Rotech Subsea equipment.
  • Performing maintenance and repair of equipment at the Rotech yard.
  • Whilst offshore, ensuring that the Rotech equipment is maintained and operated as per Rotech procedures and the offshore supervisor’s instructions.
  • Compliance with the Company Quality System.
  • Compliance with all company and client health and safety policies and procedures and reporting any safety observations to the Rotech offshore supervisor if required.

Key Skills:

  • Excellent communicator, with good time management and organisational skills.
  • Experience in hydraulic, mechanical, electrical and electronic systems.
  • Should be familiar with ISO 9001.

Training/Certification:

  • Full offshore certification and medical will be required.
  • Further training, leading to supervisory roles, will be given to suitable candidates.

Project Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in project reviews to ensure that:
    • Original project objectives are met.
    • Client requirements and expectations are met.
    • Issues including safety, environmental, operability, maintenance, reliability and quality are addressed during the project life.
  • Liaise with clients to ensure all project objectives are successfully achieved.
  • Organise and manage any 3rd party equipment necessary to carry out the project.
  • Participate in HAZID and risk assessment meetings and ensure all actions are closed out.
  • Organise and participate in internal Project Technical Reviews, with consideration given to:
    • Project equipment availability, 3rd party equipment required and cost related issues.
  • Prepare all necessary procedures for offshore operations, equipment deployment and testing. These will include:
    • HIRA documents, HSE plans, quality plans, mobilisation and demobilisation procedures, subsea operations procedures, inspections and test plans.
  • Compile sea fastening drawings, 3rd party data sheets, operations manuals and 3rd party rigging certification to supply to clients.
  • Use AutoCAD to complete deck layouts.
  • Prepare case studies for all completed projects.
  • Testing and monitoring sonar equipment.
  • Assist with tracking all 3rd party equipment and sonar/subsea monitoring equipment.

In the wide-ranging marketing role, you will:
  • Support senior management in developing Rotech’s marketing plan.
  • Work with and support the sales team.
  • Manage the customer database, ensuring GDPR compliance.
  • Manage and update the company website.
  • Grow the company’s social media presence and improve search engine visibility and manage Rotech’s LinkedIn pages.
  • Prepare compelling marketing content (e.g. press releases, news updates, case studies etc).
  • Procure marketing materials and branded items.
  • Coordinate hospitality events, conferences, exhibitions, and sponsorships.
  • Manage the Rotech brand and related digital assets.
  • Undertake competitor analysis.
  • Manage customer feedback to inform marketing strategy and campaigns.

Skills and Experience

The successful applicant will have:
  • 2+ years’ experience in a marketing role (in particular, hands-on digital marketing experience).
  • A marketing or business degree (CIM or IDM qualifications would be advantageous).
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work independently without supervision and be highly self-motivated.

Reporting to the Director of Rotech Subsea, you will be part of a small team of business development professionals and project engineers. Experience in any of our market sectors would be advantageous, as would a knowledge of subsea trenching and excavation.

The successful applicant will be comfortable presenting to existing and prospective clients and be willing to travel regularly throughout the UK and worldwide. Attendance at trade shows will also be required.

Mechanical Fitter

Due to the continuing growth of our business, Rotech is seeking new Mechanical Fitters to join our technical team. You will be working both on new-builds and on the maintenance of our fleet of unique subsea excavation equipment based in our Aberdeen yard. Your work will be varied and will range from long lead-time assembly work to urgent quick-turnaround maintenance work.

All tools and equipment are provided. Occasional opportunities will arise for international travel and offshore project work, depending on skills and motivation.

Key skills required:

  • Sound technical skills, with experience of working with hydraulics and diesel-driven systems.
  • Ability to read mechanical assembly drawings and accurately follow assembly instructions.
  • Ability to work well both with others and unsupervised.
  • A calm and confident approach to problem solving in high-pressure situations.
  • Good trouble-shooting skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability.
  • A can-do attitude with a determination to get the job done successfully.
  • An uncompromising adherence to health and safety practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Assembly of new equipment according to assembly drawings.
  • Maintenance of various mechanical and hydraulic equipment and diesel engines.
  • Assisting in the mobilisation and demobilisation of excavation spreads for off-shore projects.
  • Maintaining a clean and organised work area.
  • Ensuring safe working practices are always followed.
